Heather Locklear made ex-husband Richie Sambora check himself into rehab.

Sources say the actress sat down the rocker who she was married to from 1994-2007 and urged him to seek help to deal with his problems.

“It was Heather who sat Richie down and told him he needed to take control of his life,” an insider told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“He was completely drained after a long international tour last year, and during a month-long break, Richie fell off the wagon hard.

“She urged him to get help for his boozing before he hurt himself or someone else.”
