Emily Blunt says her role in 2006 movie The Devil Wears Prada changed her life.
In the flick about the cut-throat world of the catwalk Emily played a fashion assistant.
Blunt also admits the film which also stars Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway changed her view on clothes forever.
“I’m not quite as obsessed as my character in that film but I really love fashion. I love clothes,” Emily said.
“I did learn a lot about clothes on that film and from working with Patricia Field, the costume designer who did all the Sex And The City costumes.
“I started to see clothes as an art form and see how they could express your personality. I always love seeing what people wear. I think fashion can be an extension of who you are.
“I enjoy red carpet events and photo shoots because you can become someone else and get dressed up, almost becoming another character.
“The Devil Wears Prada changed the game for me in a big way. I had worked a lot before that in theatre and TV and I’d done a few independent films. But I think doing a film like that, which everyone loves, opens up so many other avenues.
“I feel that if I hadn’t done that, I wouldn’t have been considered for Gulliver’s Travels. “It has certainly given me a much broader spectrum of roles to choose from.
“I have had a lot more work in America because everyone saw The Devil Wears Prada.
“I have moments where I have to take a reality check because I can’t believe that it’s all happened to me.
“I definitely think someone’s been looking out for me. I think about what an extraordinary job I have, how lucky I am.”
