Katy Perry doesn't Google herself!

Katy Perry stopped Googling herself after finding out that husband Russell Brand was planning to propose before it had even happened.

The Teenage Dream hitmaker says she used to use the search engine to find stories about herself but said that she had to quit after getting a Google alert about Brand’s proposal plans weeks before he got down on one knee.

“I’m four months Google-free,” Katy said. “I don’t Google myself anymore. That was my New Year’s resolution. I don’t read papers. I don’t even look at reviews. I have a good team around me so if anything pops up that’s really good or bad I’ll know about it.

“Generally I feel much better being able to live my life like a normal person and not read yesterday’s news.”

Perry recently admitted Brand can be a “real handful”.

“He is a real handful but handfuls can be fun,” she says. “There is never a dull moment. A sense of humor is really important in our household and that is how we de-stress.

“We like to have a laugh. We are really good friends and we have our cats at home too. My favorite time is when it is just us at home with our cats and we are having fun.”
